Word Of The Day January 13, 2011
We haven’t had
much any snow this year…up until now! We awoke this morning to find a thick covering of beautiful white, fluffy snow. Let me rephrase that: We were awakened this morning and forced to run to the window to see the snow on the cars, the roof, the grass, the road…
The kids, especially our 3 year-old, have been waiting with bated breath for snow to fall this year. How do you explain Winter to a kid in Upstate NY without proof?! Thankfully, we have had a nice Winter so far…mild temperatures with very little rough weather. I like that.
It had to hit sooner or later. Today it is lovely. The snow is continuously falling and the air is muted. That’s my favorite part about snow…everything gets quieter.
…everything but the plow trucks. Our one year-old LOVES watching the trucks plow by, pushing snow onto the edges of our street. Then we had the mini-plow come & clean the driveway. He was sooooo excited! This brings me to a new segment I will share here on my blog from time to time: Word Of The Day, where we will follow the language development of a toddler. We get very thrilled when he speaks a new word, as he is taking his time in this department. (Believe me, we know he will catch up & we will be begging him to stop!)
