Organize, Schmorganize!

Organize, Schmorganize!

Spring cleaning!  The time of year where I break a sweat at least once a day dusting, vacuuming, organizing & weeding through the old.  It’s a necessity around here since we live in 1200 square feet of space with a LOT of “stuff”.  (Always reminds me of the George Carlin skit.)  We seem to have a pretty ridiculous system of getting rid of our stuff only to get more stuff!  We do, however, love our stuff.  I have to admit that although my children have enough stuff to start their own preschool, it is rather fun seeing them utilize their new stuff.  It’s also fun when they contribute to the organization of their stuff.  Put those little helping hands to work!

Kids’ Desk Area ~ almost organized!

Somehow, some way, once the stuff is in it’s place, it instantly finds it’s way out of order.  Now, my sweaty attempts to organize literally get smashed to pieces when I let those little helping hands loose in the newly cleaned space.  The perfectionist side of me says everything must be in it’s place.  The mother side of me says to let it go or you’ll end up pulling your hair out.  Let this be yet another lesson in parenthood…organize, schmorganize!

    • Ha! Josh, I knew I had heard of that somewhere before!! The Mom-brain in me has officially lost her marbles. Thanks for the link 🙂

  1. The link to Carlin is very funny. I have never heard of him! I will have to watch a few more videos of him when I have a little more time. Thanks for sharing!

I am not a neat freak, but do like to be organized so parenting 3 boys has been very challenging. “letting go” of many things has made my days easier. I have learned a few techniques from that has helped me make my life easier.

    • Great site, Jenny. Thanks for the link!

George Carlin is quite a raunchy comedian…we like a little crass every now & again!
