Here’s a typical conversation with our two-and-a-half year-old:
M: “Mama, oo ont oo pay wif me now?” (Read: “Mama, do you want to play with me now?”)
Me: “Sure, bud!”
M: “OTAY!!“
Meet our son, Buckwheat.
The lady at the check-out at the grocery store.
The waitress at dinner.
The bank teller.
The kind man who complimented him on his hair.
The little girls at the playground.
The complete strangers.
His cousins.
His friends.
His sister.
These people are unaware that they are all:
“POOPYHEADS”!
Hey, you’ve got to chose your battles. This one is too hard to combat right now. So, we’re letting it fly-
In the meantime, you little twerp:
Who’s the poopyhead now?!
A tidbit from our conversation at breakfast this morning:
Tavia: “Mommy, what’s your favorite animal?”
Mommy: “I like tigers. I think they’re amazing. Also monkeys. Oh, and dogs!”
Tavia: “Well you can only pick one. I like deer. Deer are my favorite animal.”
Mommy: “Oh, ok then. I guess monkeys.”
Tavia: “Marsden, what’s your favorite animal?”
Marsden: “OOBOTS!!!!”
Oobots, AKA Robots, are Marsden’s favorite thing in the world right now. He literaly wants to eat, sleep, & breathe robots. They even make it to the favorite animal category, they must be pretty darn awesome! Today’s word of the day month year is…
OOBOT!
Kids are awesome. The way their brains work, the way they learn. It’s sometimes so cute, I can’t stand it without wanting to smother them with kisses! In our house, we spend lots of time reading, regardless how busy we may be. One of the kids’ best books is, “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?” by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle. It’s a great book about sounds that different animals make. Tavia, now three and three quarters, likes to guess what the next animal before we turn the page. Her favorite page, the flamingo, or as she likes to call it:
SWIMINGO!
Unpaid, unsponsored, uncompensated plug alert!! I have to admit, I use the diptic app on my iPhone and I love it!!
Recently, my husband & I have grown fond of instagram. We like photos, looking at them, taking them, whatever the case may be. I decided to partake in the May photo a day challenge. Oh what fun it is! Each day there’s a different theme. Today, it is “Favorite Word”.
I love the Italian language. I think it is the most beautiful of all languages. When we went to Italy for a cousin’s wedding back in 2004, I earned the nickname ‘bellissima’ from my then boyfriend. He thought I fit the definition, “beautiful”. Now that he is my husband & father to my three little beauties, I am, of course, his ‘baby mama’…so, I have earned a new & improved nickname:
Bellissimommy
I love more than anything that I am his bellissimommy. I think it suits me, don’t you?
