About Me

photo (11){updated June 2014) Live, Love, and Learn. Pretty much sums it up. Without love, I would lead a sad existence. I am a Daughter, a Sister, a Wife and a Mother, among other love relationships. I am the very proud mother of THREE beautiful children. A girl, now five and a half, a boy, recently turned four, and a girl, who turned two in March. But we might not feel like our family is complete quite yet. (Or do we?!)

My husband and I are learning to simplify because of what we believe is right. That is a challenge in itself seeing as though I came from parents who showed me to be everything but simple. My journey is a lovely medley of both…I CAN have my cake and eat it too!

I launched “The Whimsical Sweet” with a fresh outlook on life. I am embracing Motherhood and Entrepreneurship with every bone, vein and nerve in my body. Before I became a Mom I was a full-time piano teacher, and I embraced that just the same. I strive to make sure I love what I do. Now that I have the most challenging and greatest gift a person can endure, I am whole-heartedly attempting to not only love every second, but teach and guide our children into a wonderful life. We tweak the two halves into a whole and VOILA! We’re parents raising children in a very strange world.

In 2009, I opened a handmade shop online featuring I-don’t-know-whats and a little bit of uncertain somethings. I began writing The Whimsical Sweet in 2011 and slowly developed the blog/shop dream into a reality with the makeover of sweet whimsy designs. I create handpainted pieces of playable art for all ages. During this evolution, I became aware of other people just like me holding onto a dream. It became evident that I could utilize my blog/shop to help promote their small businesses. I also couldn’t let go of the notion of giving back, at which time I decided to donate a percentage of sales from my own shop to various foundations and charities near and dear to my heart. I am proud of every bit of love I put into my shop and my blog along with the work it took to get here. Beyond that, I am grateful for every bit of love that has been given to me to make it all possible.

I crave an outlet for those discussions in which people of all kinds face. Those that parents seek. Those that human beings want to chat about.

Here I am: The Whimsical Sweet.
