What We Ate: Valentine’s Day Edition

I’m not a sucker for Valentine’s Day…usually.  Now that I have children, it brings on a new meaning.  Sure, it’s a “Hallmark Holiday”, but what better time of the year to celebrate nothing something?!  The weather is lame & there hasn’t been a holiday since Christmas…almost two whole months ago!  That’s a long time for kids!!

We’ve been up to a few fun things around here.  One of them was a simple food idea I found on Pinterest (see the new “P” button over there —>?  Follow me there, it’s so fun & addicting)!  Breakfast this morning was a surprise & the kids loved it!

Heart-i-ful Eggs & Toast

I didn’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter so I used a trusty old-fashioned knife ;).  I grilled both sides of whole wheat bread with a little butter.  I kept the heart shape to dip in the over-medium egg & voila –  a fun little breakfast!
