Sick Day

Sick Day

Recovering from the flu is no fun when you have two little faces looking to you to entertain them.  And feed them.  And nurse them.  And change them.  And take them to the potty.  And…

I have no choice, so let another lesson in parenting be learned.  Mom doesn’t get a “break”.  Never.  Once a Mom, always a Mom.  Let it be said that I’m in no way complaining.  I enjoy it.  There’s a lot one can do while laying low.  Though my home may LOOK like a bomb went off, I can honestly say it was a good day.

Here are some of the activities we did today:

Read books.

Played board games.

Started making invitations to my son’s birthday party.

Colored.

Played “dress-up”.

Snuggled and read books.

Read more books.

Laced blocks.

Ate soup and crackers.

Built towers.

Knitted.

Played with our cousins.

Snuggled & watched a movie together.

Read more and more books.

Ahhhhh…just typing that made me realize that perhaps I wasn’t “laying low” after all.  Silly me!  Such a silly Mom!

  1. marsden is getting tall…can you believe a year has almost gone by?

    • No, I can’t believe it! Laura, I’m estimating he’s around 32 inches tall already! YIKES!

  2. I am sorry to hear you have been ill. You are so right about a Mom always being a Mom in sickness and in health! I am impressed with what you did today while “laying low.” Take it a little easier tomorrow so you can recover quickly!

  3. Awww glad that you could enjoy your children so much even while being sick! Feel better, Lele! I love you all!

  4. Ummmm…yeah, that’s more than I do in a regular, nonsick day! hehehehehe…
