Monday, Monday

Monday, Monday

Remember when Mondays were fun because they were school days? Remember when Mondays were NOT fun because they were school days? I’m caught somewhere in between today.

It’s funny how long it takes a person to change their habits, to release their past. I’m 32 and only now am I replacing the feeling of Mondays being a negative-ish day. Every Sunday night of my life has been “Oh no, school/work/Monday is tomorrow! Yuck!”! That feeling is unravelling, so I‘m letting it go.

Think of all those habits we’ve created in our day and why. Most of the time, there is no reason. I am trying to break the habit of having habits. I’ve let go of quite a few, I’ve also kept quite a few (we have to brush our teeth at least twice a day, right?!). Mondays are good for that. Start fresh. I think I’ll start today!

  1. Monday is still a negative for me. I prefer Fridays.

  2. Funny that you say that today….don’t know why I dread Monday so much at work because in reality, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are pretty similar and I don’t seem to dread them!

I think my real dread comes from starting another week knowing I have so much to do and just like all the rest, it will come and go so fast that I will be in the same position next Monday! Maybe I need to slow life down a little (easy to say but not so easy to do with 2 kids, a grown kid, 2 jobs and a full college load) but take things one at a time!

I am vowing to break the “too busy to breathe” habit and start taking a little time each day for myself!

  3. Well said, Lele. Well said.
I am now pondering on what habits I should let go of…hmmm… Thank you for another brilliant bit of whimsically Sweet insight today 🙂
